7 Passenger Crossover Vehicles 2013

7 passenger crossover vehicles provide superior handling than the larger sport utility vehicles (SUVs). They also have a better gas mileage than most SUVs as well. They’re purchased by women who need the extra cargo space for a home business or to haul around their daughter’s lacrosse team. Men buy them for the same reasons, but this way they can still claim they’ve never driven a mini-van.

Here are a few of the best, new models out now.

Ford Flex

The Ford Flex for 2013 is available in three models. The estimated mpg (miles per gallon) is rated at 18/25 with a suggested retail price of about $30,800.  One of its new safety features is Curve Control. If a driver has entered a curve too quickly, the system reduces the speed by up to 10 MPH. Each Flex model boasts a 3.5 Liter, V-6 engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Kia Sorento

The 2013 Kia Sorento’s prices starts at around $23,100. The MPG begins at 21/30 for the AWD package. It has a full complement of front and side airbags that extend to the back, protecting all seven passengers. Kia has put a 2.4 Liter 4 cylinder engine in its two cheaper models and a 3.5 Liter V-6 in the high end models. All of their 7 passenger crossover vehicles come with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Mitsubishi Outlander

Mitsubishi offers its 2013 Outlander in three models beginning at $22,600. The mpg rating is 23/28.  All models now have the Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution or RISE body construction which makes use of the latest developments in Impact Energy Absorption to keep driver and passengers better protected. For the two cheaper models, Mitsubishi has a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) system that relies on a series of belts rather than the traditional gears and a 2.4 Liter 4 cylinder engine. Their high end model offers Mitsubishi’s own Sportronic 6 speed automatic transmission with a 3.0 Liter V-6.

Nissan Pathfinder

Nissan Pathfinder offers three models for 2013.  It has a 20/26 mpg rating and starts around $28,600.  All Pathfinder models come with Auto Mode Traction. When the system realizes that the driving surface has become slippery or excessively rough, it reduces or increases power to each wheel as individually needed. The Pathfinder also has a CVT transmission on its crossovers. Their CVT though uses a drive chain rather a series of belts. All of Nissan’s 7 passenger crossover vehicles come with a 3.5 Liter V6 engine.

Toyota Highlanders

The Toyota Highlanders for 2013 arrive in four different models and two hybrid models. Pricing begins at $28,800 and the mpg ratings begin at 18/24. The Highlanders feature UV Reduction Windshields on all models now, protecting driver and passengers from the sun. On its two cheaper models, Highlander has a 2.7 Liter 4 cylinder engine; the higher end models and the Hybrid Highlanders come with a 3.5 Liter V-6.

Those 7 passenger crossover vehicles are waiting for you.  All you have to do now is to decide which one to take home.
